(Toronto, Canada) – Inspiration is in the air, as Shalli, the new Princess of Island-Pop graces us with her latest single “Show My Love.” This her second single from the forthcoming album “Island Pop” (due March 2011), the song is aimed at worldwide audiences with hopes of creating change, one lovely moment at a time.
“Sometimes we feel overwhelmed when we think of showing love to the whole world,” say Shalli, who recorded “Show My Love” in English, Spanish and French. “This song lets us know that even a smile or even allowing someone to smile with you is enough to change a life for the better. I knew when I heard the music that I wanted to write uplifting lyrics that crossed over to a worldwide audience.”
And crossover it has, already being received well on reggae radio worldwide and featured on the Goodmood Album Riddim alongside a new song from Buju Banton. “Show My Love” is produced by Bobby Chin (Black Chiney) and Hi A Grade Productions from the Virgin Islands. French dancehall superstar Tiwony features on “Je Te Donne,” the French version produced by D&H Remixers from France. And the Spanish version is called “Te Doy MI Amour.” Legitimately eyeing a global influence, all three language versions have videos to be serviced around the world.
“Shalli brings a unique pop/R&B flavor to the reggae music,” says Hi A Grade. “Her modern, yet classic style and strong songwriting skills promises her a great future in the industry.”
The brightest new star in the island-pop genre, Shalli’s musical sensibilities are shaped partly by those before her like Billy Ocean, Diana King, Sean Kingston and Iyaz. Yet her brand of positive, thoughtful, rhythmic music is uniquely personal to her sexy, sophisticated demeanor. Shalli’s sound is ready for the world and will continue with another single in 2011 featured on the Boboflow, Glorious & Island Breeze Riddims.
“This is one of those songs that sparks a good vibe anywhere, anytime for anyone who hears it,” says Shalli about “Show Your Love.” “Love is contagious, thank goodness!”
